Google Drive Archiving
How to set up automatic archiving of approved documents to Google Drive through the ssm.ro platform.
Google Drive archiving runs daily, outside business hours, for approved documents.
Important: The Shared Drive service is available starting with Google Business Standard subscriptions.
Step 1 — Create a project in Google Cloud Platform
- Navigate to Google Cloud Platform Console
- Create a new project: Select Project > New Project > Create
Step 2 — Enable the Google Drive API
- Go to API Library
- Search for and enable Google Drive API
Step 3 — Add a Service Account
- Go to APIs & Services > Credentials
- Create new credentials for a Service Account
- Download the JSON file with the authentication credentials
- Save the service account's email address for the next step
Step 4 — Create a Shared Drive
- Open Google Drive
- Select New > Shared Drive
- Name it "Arhiva SSM.ro" and enter the folder
- Copy the Shared Drive ID from the URL (format:
/drive/folders/[ID])
Step 5 — Share the Shared Drive
- Grant access to the service account's email address from Step 3
Step 6 — Configure in the ssm.ro platform
Go to Settings > Electronic Archiving > Google Drive and:
- Upload the downloaded JSON file
- Enter the Shared Drive ID
- Enable the service
Upon activation, a folder for the company automatically appears in the Shared Drive. Daily archiving of approved documents runs outside business hours. Archiving logs are available per document or in the daily operations history.
